Most of the younger guys want to be cowboys! The biggest
challenge for them is what color cowboy hat they want
to wear. Lisandro settled for a white hat with a red bandana
and jean jacket to cover up his hospital gown and IV. |
|

Emily was thrilled to put on a pretty pink hat and pose
for this precious smile. With over a dozen hats and color
choices, sometimes it's tough to settle on just one! |

Israel is a 'repeat customer' at the Children's Hospital.
He's been a 'regular' since he was an infant and in conversation
with his mother, she expressed tremendous gratitude for
the photo that didn't expose his ever-present wheelchair
and barrage of tubes and wires. |

These little babies have one of the most common signs
of illness; an 'NG' tube. Thanks to the magic
of digital editing, we are usually able to 'remove'
the tube and tape so their grateful parents can have
a portrait to share with friends and family that doesn't
highlight their illnesses.

Tahse is a great example of what Heartworks is all about.
As you can see from her 'before' picture, she arrived
at our little studio at Phoenix Children's Hospital with
tubes and machines in tow. In the 'after' picture,
she's still sitting in her wheelchair with all the wires
and tubes but we covered up the chair and her shirt with
a pretty blue drape, added a hat and some 'princess' tulle
then after the picture was taken, we airbrushed out the
NG tube. The end result... just her beautiful smile
shining through! |
