How do you
get a quality, professional portrait of a child
who spends most of his or her time in the hospital?
It
is a challenge that prompted the creation of Heartworks
Photography, a private, Illinois-based non-profit
organization.
Through
the art of digital enhancement, parents can get
portraits of their children minus all of the medical
equipment that's always around them.
Today
they did a photo shoot at DeVos Children's Hospital
in Grand Rapids.
"We
started this as a small-time volunteer and the
response we got was overwhelming. We realized
no one else was doing this so we decided to devote
our full time to this," said Genette Parsons
from Heartworks Photography.
A
local company, Roman Manufacturing, donated the
funds to cover costs for today's photo session.
