Unlike film photography, digital photography pictures are taken with an electronic replacement for film which stores the photos inside the camera and can transfer the photos to a personal computer.

The digital files can then be manipulated using professional editing software before processing them into prints in the photography lab.

The advantages of digital photography are numerous:

• The photos are ready for viewing as soon as they are taken.
• Paper waste is prevented because the picture can be viewed before it is processed.
• Pictures can be edited via computer or erased if they do not measure up to acceptable standards.
• The digital photos on the disk will not deteriorate as negatives can.

Tahse is a great example of what Heartworks is all about. As you can see from her ‘before’ picture, she arrived at our little studio at Phoenix Children’s Hospital with tubes and machines in tow. In the ‘after’ picture, she’s still sitting in her wheelchair with all the wires and tubes but we covered up the chair and her shirt with a pretty blue drape, added a hat and some ‘princess’ tulle then after the picture was taken, we airbrushed out the NG tube. The end result… just her beautiful smile shining through!
